Privacy Policy
This policy covers both the Actify Studio desktop application and the actify-studio.com website.
The desktop application
Actify Studio collects no personal data and sends none to us. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no user account, and no license check. We have no servers that the application talks to, and we receive nothing when you use it.
What the app stores, and where
Everything the application produces stays on your own computer:
- Recorded tests, page objects, flows and suites — written to Actify-Studio in your user folder.
- Session videos (.webm) — saved alongside the test that produced them, only if video recording is enabled.
- Settings, bookmarks, custom headers and drafts — stored in the application’s local storage and in its data folder on your machine.
We cannot read any of it. Deleting the application’s folders deletes the data.
Network connections the app makes
The application itself does not phone home. It does open network connections in three cases, all initiated by you:
- The embedded browser connects to whatever websites you navigate to. Those sites see the traffic, exactly as they would in any browser. Pages you visit, and any credentials you type into them while recording, are handled locally and are visible to us at no point.
- The Test Runner, the first time you use it, downloads Playwright and a Chromium build from the public npm registry and the Playwright CDN. These are third-party services with their own privacy practices.
- Download links (for example the Node.js prerequisite) open in your system browser when you click them.
Data you record
Recorded tests may contain whatever appeared on the pages you recorded, including form values you typed. This content never leaves your machine unless you choose to share the exported files yourself. Review recordings before sharing them.
The website (actify-studio.com)
The website collects no personal data. There are no sign-up or contact forms, no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers.
Data we collect
None. Browsing actify-studio.com, reading the docs or following the download link does not give us any personal data.
Cookies & tracking
None. The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers. There is nothing to consent to.
Downloading the app
Actify Studio is distributed through the Microsoft Store. The download badge is a link hosted on this site: nothing is loaded from Microsoft until you click it. The click opens the Microsoft Store (the Store app on Windows, the Store website elsewhere), where Microsoft’s own privacy statement applies.
If you joined the pre-launch waitlist
Before launch, the website offered a waitlist. For each sign-up we stored the email address, the language it was submitted from, and a timestamp. We use these addresses only to announce the release of Actify Studio, with no marketing lists and no third-party sharing, and we delete the whole list within 90 days of launch. The list is stored securely and access is restricted to the Actify Studio team.
Your rights
Apart from the pre-launch waitlist described above, we hold no personal data about website visitors or app users. Under GDPR you can request access to, or erasure of, your waitlist entry at any time. For this or any privacy question, email us at info@actify-studio.com.
