What stays on your PC
- No account, no sign-in, no telemetry. Actify Studio does not send your tests, recordings or usage data anywhere.
- Your files stay on your PC, in
C:\Users\<you>\Actify-Studio: projects, tests, Page Objects, flows, reports and videos. Back them up like any other folder. - App preferences (settings, favorites, custom headers, unsaved draft) are stored locally by the app.
- The built-in browser keeps cookies and logins between sessions, like a normal browser. Clear browsing data removes them.
- Uninstalling the app from Windows does not delete the
Actify-Studiofolder in your user folder; delete it manually if you no longer need your tests.
Recorded values are plain text
Anything you type while recording — passwords included — appears in the steps, generated code, reports and videos. Use test accounts and test data.
When the app uses the network
- Internet access is used only for: the sites you open in the built-in browser; the one-time test runner setup (downloads Playwright and its browser); and the Download Node.js button, which opens nodejs.org in your default browser.
- Local-only connection: the app’s browser accepts automation connections (used by In-App runs) only from your own computer (127.0.0.1), never from the network.
