What’s new in Actify Studio 1.1.0

Data-driven and dynamic tests, secure secrets, clearer test runs.

Version 1.1.0 makes recorded tests data-driven and dynamic, keeps passwords out of your tests and makes runs easier to read.

New

  • Test data — run one test against many rows of data (CSV import/export), each row with its own result. Gherkin becomes a Scenario Outline. See Test data.
  • Secrets per environment — passwords and tokens are encrypted on your PC and never written into tests or exports. When you record a password field, Save as secret moves it out of the test. See Secrets.
  • Dynamic tests — random emails, names, dates, codes and more; random dropdown options; variables reused across steps; regular-expression assertions. See Dynamic data and variables.
  • Optional steps for elements that only sometimes appear (cookie banners, promos), and hover for menus and tooltips. See Optional steps and Hover.
  • Browser dialogs (alert, confirm, prompt) and file uploads are recorded and replayed. See Dialogs and File uploads.
  • Page health check — fail or warn on console errors, failed requests or broken images. See Page health check.
  • Step screenshots in the Test Runner, plus a screenshot of the page where a test failed. See Step screenshots.
  • Mouse cursor and click marks in the session video. See Session video.
  • A step-by-step guide to your first test, reopened any time from the ? button. See Install and first launch.

Improved

  • Clearer Test Runner output — every step described in plain words, with result, duration and a final summary. See Results.
  • Cleaner recording of text fields — clicking a field and then typing records only the typing step.
  • Values editable on the card — the value of a typed field, a dropdown and an assertion can be changed directly on the step card.
  • Session video always shows the full page, even when you open the bottom panel during recording.
  • Refined interface — more readable text, a toolbar that adapts to small screens, a dark empty browser in the dark theme, the page staying visible under menus, and popups that no longer close on an accidental click outside.

Changed: random list items are chosen on the step card

Right-click during recording no longer opens the Actify menu: the browser shows its normal context menu. To click a random, first or last item of a list, record a normal click and use the dice button on the step card (see Repeating lists). Assertions are added with the Assert button, which offers many more checks.

Fixed

  • The Action History stays visible when Windows animation effects are turned off (Settings → Accessibility → Visual effects → Animation effects). Before, steps were added but the panel looked empty.
